Tina McAulay has been selected as a finalist in the “Special Counsel of the Year” category in theLawyers Weekly Women in Law Awards.
Her nomination for this award was supported by referrals of clients of Pragma Legal, including previous clients of Tina’s that still brief her as agent, for her specialist advocacy skills.
Tina has helped Pragma implement its innovative fixed fee mediation to change the way it approaches resolution of disputes in a pragmatic and cost-effective way.
Tina sits on a number of boards and committees. As former President of WLWA this year, Tina directed the implementation of the WLWA 2014 20th Anniversary Review of the 1994 Chief Justice’s Gender Bias Taskforce Report. This report included 197 recommendations for workplace gender balance. Tina’s advocacy for change demonstrates her impact in challenging the practice of law in Australia and the gender imbalance.
Tina was also was responsible for organising the first Women in Law (WA) photograph since 1999. This iconic event celebrated the advancement of Women in the Legal Profession. The photograph captured close to 1000 female lawyers, including many current and former members of the judiciary, current and former members of the WLWA Committee, barristers, 150 government lawyers and private practice lawyers. The photo was a way of galvanising women in the profession so that they support each other and stand together.
Tina will be attending the Award Ceremony this Friday at the Grand Hyatt in Melbourne. We wish her the best of luck.
