Matt was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2014 and to the High Court of Australia in 2017. He has worked in firms of all sizes, spanning a two-solicitor practice in Perth to a magic circle firm in London, as well as a secondment from the latter to a global investment bank.
Before joining Pragma in 2025, Matt practised commercial litigation and dispute resolution in a medium sized firm for several years, where he acted for listed and unlisted companies, trusts, and individuals of both high net worth and more modest means. In all cases he is commercially driven, with a focus on deeply understanding his client’s business interests and circumstances to identify their priorities. He frequently briefs Senior Counsel, but is also accomplished on his feet, having appeared in all first instance courts, run successful trials in domestic and international arbitrations as well as the District Court of Western Australia, and argued successful applications for final relief in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
When not working or chasing after his young kids, Matt enjoys hiking, reading, and playing piano at a very amateur level.
